“A Team of Three Wets” in the current issue of Mid Atlantic Fly Fishing Guide

Calling all wet fly junkies! This article discusses the how and why of fishing a three-fly team of wet flies. It includes a diagram that shows you how to build a three-fly leader. MAFFG is distributed free in fly shops all over the — well, Mid-Atlanctic area. Who knew?

This magazine is an underrated gem.

Steve: Can you post the article for those of us who don’t live in the M-A area, and don’t have access to the FFG?

Good to hear from you again Steve. Just finished “Ruminations on Fishing” by Wm. Tapply. I highly recommend it as an easy read packed with wit and reflections on life in general. Found the last chapter especially moving. Will look for the article you mentioned.

I was reading about the “Three Proven Stream Wets” in the May 2014 issue of the “Mid Atlantic Fly Fishing Guide” and was wondering if you had any step by step instructions on how to tie them. The three flies appeared on page 15 of that issue. I agree that the guide is a gem and plan to get a one year subscription.

      Hi Chip,

I don’t at this point have an SBS for those flies. But you can probably find an SBS for a Woolly Bugger online. Just translate those to the mini bugger. If you have questions on the others I’ll be happy to help.
