Hi David, and welcome to fly fishing. There’s no one “best.” You want to match a line to your rod and your casting style and the type of flies you’ll be throwing. What weight is the rod? That’s a good starting point. Be advised that all rods are different (as are all anglers) and for some people, a 5 weight line is not what will work best on a five weight rod. Take a trip over to UpCountry, take your rod, and ask them to help you get it set up.
Hi Steve,
Is there supposed to be a hot link to more content? If not I’ll have to wait until the show to see it.
Alton
No hot link, just a little teaser. See you there!
As always, you will do a Great job. I am sure that I will get to see it somewhere. This is my favorite type of fishing. I’m attending the NJ show.
Thanks, Ray. I appreciate your confidence.
Hi Steve. I’m new to fly fishing what is the best WT line I should on the Farmington river. I have a 8′ browning rod.
