    5 months away????????? What kind of insects are in your photograph?   Do they emerge in July?  What part of the country? Peter

      Hi Peter. Those are white flies, a very large mayfly. The photo was taken on the Housatonic River in CT. Up here it’s a late July/early August phenomenon, hence its nickname “The Summer Blizzard.” I’ve always found that troutnut.com is a good resource for bug info…check it out for more information.
